the scenario…

Post announcement of the Orissa election results the Cheif Minister of the State Shri. Navin Patnaik had said,

the centre has neglected Orissa in the past and his party will see that the central government fulfills the demand of the state.

And we all know what Maharashtra Nava Nirman Sena lead by Shri. Raj Thackery has been doing and Shiv Sena has done the same in the past. Power thereby the comfort & compromise resulting out of it might have made the Shiv Sena’s sword a bit sharpless.. But both live up to the aspirations of Maratees.

Time and again question have been raised that Center has ignored the Eastern regions and we all are aware of Organisations that has taken up arms in the east for Independence of Assam, Nagaland.

And my own state Tamilnadu is not an exception, with a history of having asked for Dravida Land during the times of Independence and then settling down for power at the State level, shadowing Congress. When Tamils fight for a separate land in Lanka, elements rejoice at Tamilnadu recognizing it.

Kashmir has always been head ache for India due to Islamic loyalty to Islam more than the Indian nation. Punjab had its own bloody history that has led to the killing of Smt. Indira Gandhi.

And the second big national party of India, the BJP has come to power in the two states of Gujrath and Karnataka living up to the regional aspirations of those respective states.

If noted keenly, post-independence we have seen a regional party coming up ahead of the National Party – Congress may it be Andra, the Telugu Desam, Maharastra – the Shiv Sena, Bihar – the RJD or Nitish’s wing, Assam – the AGP, Kashmir – the National Conference, JMM at Jharkhand, Akali Dhal at Punjab etc.,

The Communists ruled states West Bengal and Kerala can be sighted as a difference, since even before regional elements could aspire, the Communists evoke the class & workers sentiment to get to power.. That is also vanishing with Mamata’s Trinamool Congress putting into forefront the aspirations of Bengal, atleast according to her words. And the behavior of Congress and Communists in the Mullai Priyar Dam issue, says the other way around..

And even at state levels we have regional elements from within that have arose and are definitely a dominant force in deciding  the State Government. It may be the PMK, MDMK, Telengana Rashtra Samiti etc.,

So where is India heading for? Are regional aspirations bad in the interest of the nation as a whole or the one nation under a Central Command has failed to do it distributively to all corners of the nation?

the self dependence movement aims to find a solution to this..
